This tool can be used to fine tune fertilizer applications and allow farmers to be systematic and efficient about how and when to apply fertilizer for the best affect. This is best used as a general overview and while you can fine tune how much fertilizer to apply throughout the year, the exact timing is not represented. For example, for a brassica field you may be looking to apply 30% pre plant fertilizer and have supplemental applications throughout the year. You will need to calculate and time subsequent applications based on growing times and stages, and what makes most sense for your operation. It may make most sense to apply all fertilizer as pre-plant at which point the granular fertilizer guide will be the most useful.
