Gabriella Soto-Velez from NCAT will lead a presentation on soil health indicators, focusing on practical strategies for enhancing soil vitality through cropping and ground cover methods. This session will provide valuable insights into the fundamentals of soil health, emphasizing how these techniques can be effectively integrated into farming practices.
Following this, Juan Carlos Rodriguez from Florida Organic Growers, will offer a concise presentation on transitioning to organic farming, providing essential guidance for farmers interested in making the shift to organic practices. His talk will cover the challenges and opportunities associated with organic certification and the steps necessary to achieve it.
To conclude the workshop, Cetta, the owner of Seed Time Harvest Farm, will share her firsthand experience with agrivoltaics—an innovative approach that combines agriculture with solar energy production. She will discuss how this technology has been implemented on her farm and the benefits it has brought to both her crops and energy efficiency.
