Maple View Farm in Poughquag, NY was started in 2017 as a diversified vegetable, herb, and micro-green farm. The farm is a small scale 1 acre, intensive, no-till, certified organic market garden providing seasonally fresh produce 12 months out of the year. Farmer Kyle Nisonger will explain how Maple View Farm uses a no-till intensive system to produce a continuous supply of a wide variety of organic crops, including specialty greens, throughout the main season and winter. Kyle will share how he uses flexible succession planning, crop rotations, and interplanting to generate maximum production on a small scale, and will discuss the pros and cons of these to allow participants to assess if and how these systems might be a good fit for their own farm operations. Participants will tour the farm, and discuss the construction details of our new climate battery greenhouse.
